In today’s world, out of the 143 million children in developing nations, 1 in every 13 are orphaned. These children live lives of destitution and hardship in countries ravaged by war, corruption, disease, and economic disparity, and many go on to become vulnerable to other horrors such as child trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, violence, child labour, and child marriage, among other things. Horrors that could easily be prevented if these children simply had the financial means to escape the inevitable repercussions of dire poverty.
From just one dollar a day, you can help feed, clothe, and educate a young child alone in the world, who, without your help, would be forced to fend for themselves in a world of horrors no child should have to face.
how to sponsor
The way we work is quite simple. You fill out an application form, and we match your application to a suitable orphan.
In your application, you choose:
- your level of financial commitment
- your method and intervals of payment
- the age range, gender, and/or ethnic background of your orphan
- or, if you would prefer for us to select an orphan for you from wherever it is
needed most.
You can either sponsor an orphan (or more than one) for $30 a month or $60 a month, depending on the country of origin of the orphan and the level of assistance they require. Certain regions of the world, such as Palestine and Afghanistan, amongst a few select other countries, require $60 a month due to the circumstances of the region. All other countries are $30 a month. If your financial circumstances so require, you can also support an orphan by paying only part of the full monthly donation mentioned above.
Whatever level of financial support you are able to provide for your orphan will help ensure that he/she receives basic necessities such as: food and water, clothing, shelter, and education.
Once you have successfully completed an application form and your sponsorship has commenced, you will receive a Profile Package complete with personal details concerning your orphan, as well as a photograph. The package also includes a collection of Hadith, Quranic verses, and statistics regarding orphans, as well as money saving tips to ensure your monthly donations do not pose as a financial burden on you.
