Ramadan Iftar Fundraiser
Ramadan Kareem from all of us at OSP! Join us for a fundraising iftar at the NW musallah. Enjoy great home cooked food and the company of your brothers and sisters while you break your fast. We will be raising money for orphans and flood victims in Pakistan so come show your support.
Alhamdulillah we’re lucky enough to enjoy the bounties that Allah has given us such as breaking our fast but others are not so fortunate. So join us and support the orphans in need of your donations and dua’s.

Past Events
The Orphan Sponsorship Program has held a variety of events with the intent of both raising awareness about the program and collecting funds for sponsorship purposes. Past events include:
Shakers “FUN”draiser
July 11th, 2010 we invited everyone to a fun event at the Shakers Fun Center location for a day filled with go karts, wall climbing, laser tag and more. They enjoyed a free hot dog and pizza lunch and a live broadcast of the Fifa 2010 finals! We also had raffels and prizes handed out to those who were eligible. We got great support and everyone had a great time!
Bowling Night
April 10th, 2010 we introduced two hours of bowling fun that included free pizza and drinks. We rented out the entire bowling alley at Let’s Bowl and had an amazing time. Everybody enjoyed themselves while all proceeds went towards orphan sponsorships. We raised enough money to sponsor 8 orphans for a full year, Alhamdulillah!

Fast-A-Thon
In Ramadan 2007, non-Muslim students at the University of Calgary were encouraged by the MSA to join their Muslim peers in a day-long fast. In addition to the fundraising aspect through which money collected contributed to the OSP’s cause, the intention of the Fast-A-Thon was to create awareness about the Muslim experience during this month.
Dollar-A-Day
During the month of Ramadan 2007, brothers and sisters were asked to donate a dollar a day to the OSP, for a total of $30 each by the end of the month. The concept behind the fundraiser was that each individual would contribute enough to support one orphan for an entire month. Through this event, the OSP was able to raise a significant amount of funds with which to provide support to a number of orphans around the world.
